Security as a First-Class Property of Data Commons

How we keep an open data commons both accessible and trustworthy.

Open does not mean unprotected

An open commons still needs integrity guarantees. We design for security at the core:

  • Cryptographic checksums on every dataset release
  • Append-only audit logs
  • Clear governance for who can publish and revise

Why it matters

Trust is the precondition for reuse. If users cannot verify a dataset, they will not build on it.
