Where we started

Bleugates began with a simple belief: that open public data from across Africa, when brought together, can drive innovation and problem-solving on the continent.

It continues as an experiment in exploring how data, AI, and security intersect. We focus on collecting and organizing scattered datasets into consistent, standardized formats — creating a space where ideas, algorithms, and insights are accessible, not locked away in PDFs, Excel sheets, or documents.

Bleugates is that space. A commons for African data science, AI, and security research, bridging local datasets with tools and techniques that make them usable. By starting with foundational data work today, we aim to unlock AI solutions for Africa tomorrow.
